What are some famous scupltures of the male figure that would be nice to have copies of for your livingroom?

Not anything too ultra modern... it wouldn't go with my stuff just something tasteful but male... My man complains that our house doesn't reflect enough of the male element in it. I need to have things that represent the maleness of him..What are some famous scupltures of the male figure that would be nice to have copies of for your livingroom?

well, for my living room, anyway. don't want nothing to do with no naked biblical figures, lolWhat are some famous scupltures of the male figure that would be nice to have copies of for your livingroom?
copies of Remington's western figures (rodeo riders, cow hands, ranchers, etc.) tend to be associated with maleness...the rugged nature of the wild west in early America.

Classic Greek images: The discus thrower or other athletics scultpures

Roman art: images of Hercules or gladiators, the Riacci bronzes--you'll only be able to get copies of any of these as the originals are all sealed away in museums.

Rodin's bronzes (the Thinker already mentioned) might also be good, but you'll be getting copies unless you've got a mountain of cash to toss at art.
Donatello's ';David'; is a bronze male figure... not exactly masculine... but least he is a man! I guess ';Purseus with the head of Meduca'; (Cellini) is a more masculine image.

Really, if you want a blokey feel to your house.. any statue of a man just isn't going to get you there.... but you will like the bronze just the same.

If you do want to make your place more blokey... why not go for something a little risky....some slightly raunchy art... or photography... with women as the subject matter... or maybe leather and books...evincing an olde world smoking room theme where gentlemen would retire for a glass of port and a cigar ... something arte deco perhaps... the leather furniture always feels nice on bare ladies bottoms... of course.
Okay there is a ton of male statues out there. Check out an art gallery. Plus, think of you're price range. Stay away from cheep knock offs. Like those little cheep statues of renaissance figures. Cowboys are popular and are in bronze. Also images wise. You can always hire a designers. An interior designer should be able to solve your problem. Or tell your honey to pony up the money or keep his mouth quiet.
Aesthetically, not religiously speaking, you can't go wrong with Michelangelo's David. lol
i think copies especially like greek copies of statues are tacky to have. find a sculpture that isnt a copy but rather a unique and different one
WHY HAVE COPIES ? HAVE SOME BUDDING ARTIST - [ OR SOME ONE FAMOUS IF CASH IS NO PROBLEM ] - COOK UP ORIGINALS . GOOD LUCK .
The Thinker, I have one and really enjoy it, I think it would work well for a man too.
