I can't figure out the formula to get the answer:A room measures 12 ft x 9 ft. What are the dimensions in yds?

I'm taking a math class in college. I can not remember how to figure out the answer to this problem: A room is 12 ft by 9 ft. What are the dimentions in yards?I can't figure out the formula to get the answer:A room measures 12 ft x 9 ft. What are the dimensions in yds?
12ft x 30.48cm/ft x 1yd/91.44cm=4yds

9ftx 30.48cm/ft x 1yd/91.44cm=3yds

so the dimesion of a room in yds is 4yds x 3yds answer//I can't figure out the formula to get the answer:A room measures 12 ft x 9 ft. What are the dimensions in yds?
I'm not sure of the formula , either. there are 3 feet to a yard, so the dimensions would be 4 yds x 3 yds and the area would be 12 sq.yds.
There are 3 feet in a yard so divide each dimension by 3:

12/3 = 4

9/3 = 3

So your new dimensions are 4yds x 3yds

I hope this helped

=)
= 12/3 by 9/3

= 4 by 3

Answer: 4 yds by 3 yds
