Math geniuses I really need your help. How do you figure out your percentage if the test if worth 30%?

I guess you want a weighted average but we're lacking other info. if an example will help, let's say you got a grade of 80 on an assignment that's worth 70%, and a grade of 60 on the test worth 30%. all weighting % have to add up to 100%

80(.7) + 60(.3) = 56+18 = 72

a simple average assigns the same weight to each value, so if there were two, they would each be worth 50%, 3 would each be worth 33.3%, 4 would be worth 25% each, and so forth. a weighted average allows you to make some values worth more or less than others. for the two values I use above -- 80 and 60, a simple average would be (80+60)/2 = 70.
